We are back!
We have arrived back at school, great trip but as a warning we smell a little bit and it would be best not to bring the good cars. Actually we do smell a lot.
Day 11 last day Sunday
We woke bright and early ready to head off back to Perth there were a few jobs to be done but everyone pitched in and it was done really quick. After having a look in the shop we got into the car and headed for our breakfast destination which was billabong roadhouse. On the way to the roadhouse we stopped off at Shell Beach for some dancing and of course for Natalie to test the water, now this wasn't just any water it was Hyper-saline (super salty) which is one of the interesting natural features of shark bay.
Know back on highway one after visiting two natural world heritage sites and Karijini national park, which should be a world heritage site because it is so amazing!!
Still heading south, thinking about all of the amazing things we have done and here are some...
Steven- Ningaloo reef was my favorite part of the trip because of all of the amazing coral and fish just all of the colours were amazing!!
Bridget- The gorges in Karijini national park was my favorite part of the trip because of the amazing water falls, walks, colours and just everything about them!!
Henry- My favorite part of the trip was being in the car with Miss Tempone whilst she was four wheel driving so funny!!
Miss Tempone- The red dirt and blue sky put together just loved it. Watching space junk steaming though the atmosphere in the night sky at cape range national park!!
Tiana- My favorite part of the trip would have to be all of the opportunities I had to take photos, the sights we saw are like none other!!
Nic- My favorite part of the trip would have to be the Karijini gorges because they were just so beautiful and gorgeous!!
Hannah- My favorite part would have to be four wheel driving with Miss Tempone. And the beautiful colour of the water at Turquoise bay and Ningaloo reef!!
Rachael- Snorkeling in Ningaloo reef, because the fish were just so beautiful and I love snorkeling and swimming at the beach!!
Ellie- Snorkeling in Ningaloo reef because you see the fish and amazing stuff!!
Ashleigh- The Gorges, especially Weano Gorge, because it was different and adventurous!!
Zac- Snorkeling at Ningaloo Reef because it was my first ever snorkel and I liked the glass bottom boat was cool!!
Romana- My favorite part was walking the gorges because they were amazing and fascinating!!
Connor- The gorges because they were so big and it was amazing to see the formation and the historical significance!!
Ian- Ningaloo reef and snorkeling because we saw a turtle and because it was awesome. Weano because of the view!!
Natalie- it was hard to decide what my favorite part of this camp was but it would have to be the gorges. They were so beautiful and just such a great experience to visit!!
Daniel- My favorite part of the camp would have to be the Karijini gorges, because they were the most amazing thing I have ever seen on a cadet camp!!

Andrew- I would have to say there were so many different places and things to see, but I really enjoying watching people fall in love with the environment of Western Australia!!

Day 10 Saturday
We woke early to sprinkles of rain, everyone was out of their sleeping bags and packing up quick smart because we didn't want any of our stuff to get wet on the second last day of camp. Once we had moved everything under cover we got the breakfast meal ready, we cooked and ate breakfast down on the foreshore and watched the dolphins playing in the shallows of the water whilst having a great cooked breakfast. Emus are very well known in the park so we had to few come up and asked Miss Tempone for some food, yeah Miss T loved that.
After having a brilliant breakfast we boarded the Shotover (a Catamaran) we sailed into the the waters of shark bay, it was a relaxing, great sight seeing boat we saw a lots Gannets which is an ocean bird that drives in the water to eat fish, Eagle ray, Manta Ray, Turtle and Dolphins who were swimming on the bow of the boat. Whilst we were just sailing looking for marine life everyone was relaxing and taking in everything we had achieved and done on this amazing trip.
After a great three hour sail we had a nice meatball sandwich lunch and half of us headed of four wheel driving.
Miss Tempone hasn't done a lot of four wheel driving but was ready to have some fun. As we drove down the Francois Peron track everyone was having a great time, we stopped and cape Peron and took some photos with the white sand blue sea and red dunes, ran through at least 5000 sea birds and played some Speckie Ball.
After stretching our legs we hopped back in the car and headed back. We used the Go Pro which is a little video camera to capture some funny times in the car.we stopped next to a man who was telling us that someone up ahead was bogged so we got ready to go... Miss Tempone was a bit scared of getting bogged, in seeing the people who got bogged she stopped, Andrew jumped our of the car and pushed the vehicle until it relished its grip from the ground and sped off. Andrew was the hero of the day yet again! After helping the people who had got bogged Andrew jumped back in the car and we went to catch up with Miss T.
After a little more driving we met up with the other group, who had a bit of a relaxing day and went into Denham to look at project Eden which is a native fauna breading site. We all met up at the homestead and went into the natural spring hot tub. It was like having a bath!
We sadly had to leave our bath and head back to camp to cook dinner. We got our Stir Fry, sat and looked through some of the photos from the trip. Andrew took a few of the cadets to go see the dolphins playing at night, they were so cute. Whilst walking back to camp we identified some prams and shopping trolley marks in the sand. Once all of the washing up was done we started to packed the trailer so we could get off early in the morning. Everything was done and ready to go in the morning, so we all set up our beds and went to sleep.

Day 9 Friday afternoon
We stopped off for a quick swim and a late morning tea in Coral Bay. Everyone played a bit of frisby and got something to eat. After having a quick stop we were back in the cars to get to our destination Monkey Mia.
Day 9 the rest of Friday
Whilst driving to Monkey Mia we went through Carnavon and fueled, we stopped at an amazing look out which looked over shark bay. We all couldn't wait to go for a swim and be in the water! After stopping at the lookout we drove down the Peron Peninsular into the most spectacular sunset you could have ever seen the sky was blue, red, pink, yellow and white from the clouds in which the sun was seeping through. We stopped of at the Bistro in Denham and got some dinner, and to let the teachers have a bit of a break from driving. After having a very yummy dinner we left the Bistro and headed to Monkey Mia resort.
After a quick trip across to the Monkey Mia Dolphin resort everyone was getting pretty tired so we set up the tarps on the ground and slept under the stars!

Day 9 Friday morning
We awoke today to the sunrise and ready to pack up camp and head to Shark Bay. At 7:45 we had packed up the entire campsite and where ready for the drive ahead.
Day 8 Thursday
After we had gotten up, had an amazing breakfast of hash browns, bacon and eggs, we took off to Yardie Creek. When we arrived in Yardie creek, we took a nice hike up a hill to see some amazing views of the creek.
Then we went to Turquoise Bay for a well needed and deserved swim. We played Specky Ball, a new game we created, girls vs boys in keep it off and Hannah got savaged by a wild jumpy fish and became a member of an exclusive club (Savaged by a wild animal while on a cadet camp). After that we went to the Visitors centre to make a delicious lunch of meatball sandwiches and ice cream.
Jurabie Turtle centre was our next stop. It is a hatching beach for the turtles and we went for a look, it was really awesome. We ventured back to our campsite for some studying and a game of Specky ball on the beach. We stayed to watch the sunset and had an amazing chicken carbonara for dinner.

Day 7 Wednesday
Today we woke up after a good nights sleep. After a great hot breakfast of hash browns, bacon and eggs, we all went to Turquoise Bay for a swim in the ocean. We went snorkeling as the current swept us along the beautiful coral and fish. Andrew started a game of boys vs girls with a wahoo footy.
After that, we had lunch in the visitors centre. Then we went to meet our glass bottomed boat guide, Alek, for a tour and snorkel of a slice of the Ningaloo Reef. In the glass bottomed boat we saw a big Cod fish (Psycho), a reef shark and some brain corals that are more than 800 years old. Once we all hopped in the water, we began our snorkeling adventure. We saw schools of fish, more brain corals, multicolored fish and a few of us swam under the glass bottomed boat while others watched from above.
After an hour and a half of snorkeling, we retired to our campsite for some studying and relaxing. Then we went to spot some rare black footed rock wallabies, we found one with a Joey. Then we went back to camp and Ms. Tempone's cooked up a wonderful spaghetti bolognese and meatballs.

Day 6 Tuesday
Today we awoke nice and early to pack up camp, just before leaving camp we were visited by ranger Dan he gave us his thanks for helping him in the gorges, then we set off and headed for Tom Price to get fuel, food and supplies.
We took off headed towards the northern coast on a dirt track. Finally we hit the tarmac and continued on highway one. Later on in the evening we drove past the RAFF base while dodging sheep on the road. 8.00 PM we have past through Exmouth and travel towards our camp site out on peninsula it to us a hour and a half to spotting and dodging kangaroos. At 10.00pm we arrived at our camp site for the next two days and got tea cooking, we had chicken hamburgers and sausages. At 11.30 we are all heading for bed after a long day driving

This morning group one met the local ranger, Dan, he was really inspiring. We then did volunteer work in Dales gorge, pruning trees and sweeping algae off the rocks on the walk trail in Circular pool and Fortescue Falls. Also saw amazing ancient aboriginal paintings in the gorge that only would have lasted a few more decades because of erosion.
Group 2 stopped was Oxer's lookout were all four gorges meet, it was an amazing thing to see. We then travelled across the park to take on the challenge of Weano Gorge. Then we went to Handrail Pool, where we had to use our teamwork skills and help each other to get down. Whilst in the gorges we learnt about how they rescue injured people when they are in the gorges and can't move. We drive back to camp to meet up with the others.
After that we all met up and went for a swim in circular pool, which was so cold it made you go "ooh" after which we went back down to Fortescue falls for a very refreshing swim (it wasn't as cold as circular pool because the water in circular pool comes straight from the rocks). At Fortescue falls we took pictures and swam graciously before returning to home base for beef stroganoff.

After that we went to Oxer's lookout, the point were all four gorges meet. We then went to Hancock and Joffre gorge for a quick look, they were both very beautiful. Then we went back to camp to meet up with the other group.

We then learned how spiritual and sacred all of the pools in the park were to the indigenous people. Next on the list was Fern Pool, we cleared up all of the debris from the deck and from steps. Fern Pool is a very sacred part of the gorges in the park to the indigenous people, before entering the water you have to put the gorge water in your mouth and spray it over where you will enter the water, once you have done that you are aloud to enter the pool. Once we had finished cleaning up all of the debris we walked to up to the top of the gorge and met the other group.
Once everyone was reunited, we went to Fern pool for a rewarding swim, with a pretty awesome waterfall. Aboriginals believed that the pool was carved by an ancient serpent and that it still lies there today. We went back to camp, had some of Ms Tempone's beautiful Italian spaghetti and after a great meal (yum yum), we all fell asleep after a tiring day.

Day 3 Saturday
On Saturday morning we woke up from our first campsite ready to drive again safe from being trampled by cows in the night. We had breakfast at a roadhouse driving to our Karijini campsite.
The drive was eventful miss Tempone's bus was rapidly running out of fuel while Andrew's Prado was leaving us in the dust, literally red dust.
When we arrived at the campsite it was roughly 4:00pm, we were hungry when we got there and ate our mexican taco's very well Ian and Andrew had the record at 4 tacos. We then got our gear sorted and went to sleep.
